Bal Gokulam

Mangal Mandir  Balgokulam is a joint project of Shri Mangal Mandir and VHP of America Inc. Every year it continues to advance its mission of  teaching about Hindu Dharma, Heritage and practice Hindu values in an enjoyable way. Through our weekly programs  we have seen many lives changed for the better.

What Children are learning in Mangal Mandir Bal Gokulam ?

In general children are learning Sanskrit Shlokas/Subhashitas and Bhajans as an introduction into Hindu Sanskars. Values highlighted  in Hindu Dharma are being taught using the role model of characters in Ramayana, Mahabharat and also from the stories of Hindu saints and heroes. Opportunities are provided to understand and assimilate the Hindu culture by celebrating festivals like, Diwali, Holi, Navratri etc.

Yukti Group

They are learning about Srimad Bhagavad Geeta, the message of Lord Krishna. They are also learning/discussing  about values universal value system highlighted in Hindu Epics.

Bhakti Group

They are learning about Ramayan, Hindu Gods/Godess, their  message, importance in life. They are doing workshops on the arts and crafts, mainly taken from traditional Indian/Hindu culture.

Shakti Group

They are learning about Sanskit Shlokas, basics of Hindu Dharma Stories of great personalities (using Amarchitra Kata books).

Goals BalGokulam/BalVihar are…

  • To facilitate children to appreciate, learn and practice Hindu Dharma and Hindu way of life.
  • Instill pride and confidence in Hindu children about their identity.
  • Teach Bharatiya languages which helps children to better understand their culture.
  • Develop social awareness and leadership skills among children.

How can we participate?

This activity is conducted and coordinated by volunteers. They are dedicating their time, resource and energy to conduct the programs.  We appreciate any help that parents/volunteers that will help to improve the programs to achieve the goals stated above.  For details please talk to any of the volunteers.
